A bit about me
I'm Vidarshan, a software engineer whose path runs from Colombo to Perth, then Gothenburg, and now Vancouver. Working across countries and teams has made me quick to learn a new codebase and even quicker to ask the right questions.
What I enjoy most is taking something messy, like a manual process or a vague idea, and turning it into software people actually use. I like helping others get there too: as a teaching assistant I've helped 300+ students get unstuck.
Projects
Eco Clean
An AI-powered scheduling and payroll SaaS for small to mid-sized cleaning companies. Admins manage clients, jobs, staff, leave and payroll from a calendar dashboard, while staff run their day from a mobile-friendly PWA with tasks, visit notes, availability and timesheets.
Douglas College Service Alert System
An automated service-alert platform for Douglas College IT Services that replaced a manual multi-step workflow, cutting turnaround from a full day to a few hours. I owned the stack and design decisions for a two-person team.
Experience & education

Team Lead (Contract)
Nettoyage Eco Vert, Montreal, QC
- Led delivery of a full-stack scheduling and payroll SaaS (Next.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Prisma) for a paying client, from requirements gathering through production deployment on Vercel.
- Translated business needs into the technical design: PostgreSQL schema, API layer, and role-based access control (NextAuth) so admins and staff only see what their role requires.
- Integrated an OpenAI-powered feature that suggests shift assignments and cleaning tips from area-level location and recent work history, so the model never sees employee addresses.
